Concert Grand Model D
The concert hall standard. Available in a variety of original Victorian and traditional cases. Ebonized, walnut, or rosewood. Length: 8'11" c. 1884 - present (the "Centennial" D from c. 1875-1884 is 8'9"). |

Small Concert Grand Model C
Also called a semi-concert grand. The model C was listed in Steinway's catalog through 1905 and was said to be discontinued in 1913. It was made or sold on special order as late as 1936 in New York. This model is still made in Steinway's Hamburg factory. Ebonized, or Rosewood. Available in a variety of original Victorian and traditional cases. Music Room Grand Model B
The standard for the professional's home or music studio. Manufactured from 1872 to the present. Ebonized, mahogany, walnut, or rosewood. Available in a variety of original Victorian and traditional cases. Length: 6'11" c. 1884-present (earlier models from c. 1872-1884 are 6'8"). Mahogany Victorian shown. |

Parlor Grand Model A
The smallest of the real grands, it is ideal for the small studio or the home. Model A-I's (c. 1878-1897) have Victorian cases with round tails, round arms and double moldings; model A-II's (c. 1896-1914) and A-III's (c. 1913-1945) have traditional cases with square tails. Ebonized, mahogany, or walnut. Available in a variety of original Victorian and traditional cases. Length: 6'1" c. 1878-1914, model A-III 6'4 ½" c. 1913-1945. Pianos shown: mahogany Victorian with "tulip" legs and harp-shaped lyre; ebony Victorian with "fireplug" legs and lyre. |

"Living Room" Grand Models L and O
The largest of the "baby" grands. Early model O's (c.1900-1913) have a round tail, round arms and double moldings; later model O's (c. 1914-1924) have a round tail and square arms; model L's (c. 1923-present) have a square tail and square arms. The model O is still made in Steinway's Hamburg factory. Ebonized, mahogany, or walnut. Length: 5'10 ½". Pianos shown: mahogany with round arms and double molding; ebony with square arms. |
