| How a "Faust Harrison" rebuilt Steinway differs from
a new Steinway Genuine Steinway
Harps
The heart of a piano is its cast iron harp. Most Steinways built before
1945 contain genuine Steinway harps that were cast in the Stei nway
foundry in New York. Harps in Steinways built more recently come from
non-Steinway commercial foundries. We believe that harps from the New
York Steinway foundry are the best harps ever made. These harps are found
in most of our rebuilt pianos but are never found in new pianos.
Genuine Renner Action
Most pianists prefer the touch and the precise control created by action
parts made to Steinway specifications in Germany by the Renner Company.
German Steinways and almost all of our rebuilt Steinways contain these
superior parts whereas new American Steinways usually do not.
Hand Wound Bass Strings
Our rebuilt pianos contain hand-wound bass strings that are dramatically
superior to the bass strings contained in most new pianos. Most pianists
greatly prefer the strong fundamental tone created by these strings.
Hand-Rubbed Lacquer Finish
Our piano cases are graced with an elegant hand-rubbed lacquer finish
that is preferred by our customers and which is rarely found on other
pianos, new or rebuilt.
Special Soundboards and Bridges
Our super-select spruce soundboards and hard-rock maple bridges are specially
seasoned and handcrafted to produce unsurpassed tonal quality and durability.
Trained Specialists
The craftsmen who install and regulate the actions and dampers in our
rebuilt pianos and the tuners who tune and voice these pianos are highly
trained specialists with more Steinway piano experience than the craftsmen
and tuners who build and tune most other pianos.
Dedication
Because Faust Harrison Pianos is family owned and operated, our dedication
to customer service is as strong as our five-year warranty.
