Inventory
Our inventory normally contains up to 100 Steinways of all sizes from
the smallest (5'1" model S) to the largest
(8'11" model D). At any one time, about 1/3 of these pianos are complete
and ready to play while the others are in the process of being restored.
Most of the pianos we sell are fully rebuilt and refinished "vintage
era" grands that generally cost from 20% to 25% less than comparable
new models. These pianos typically have traditional ebony or wood veneer
cases, but there are almost always a few with unusual carvings or decorations.
We also usually have a few nearly new Steinways that
look, feel and sound like new. However, these pianos are more att ractive
than new Steinways because they cost about 25% less than new and because
they are fully backed by the "Faust Harrison" five year guarantee.
Our traditional style fully rebuilt grand pianos cost between $26,000.
and $65,000., depending upon size and finish, but we also often have a
few excellent pianos that are not fully rebuilt and which therefore cost
even less. Generally, we have a few such p ianos
for sale for around $20,000. Traditionally, Steinway prices increase at
year's end. Lately, the increases have been about 5% per year.
