Faust Harrison Pianos is proud to announce that we are now an authorized Yamaha piano dealership in Manhattan and Westchester.
A Perfect Match!
Yamaha has the most extensive lineup of pianos in the world, from basic digital pianos, Clavinovas, and hybrids to the new CF line of “Tier 1” pianos that has raised the bar for excellence in the high-end piano market. Faust Harrison Pianos has a range of top-quality services for the piano market, from in-home tunings to state-of-the-art restorations and high-end piano sales that are second to none. Now that Yamaha is part of the Faust Harrison collection of great pianos, every pianist, from beginner to professional, has the perfect place to find his or her perfect piano.
Faust Harrison Pianos has always been committed to selling only pianos of the highest quality and value. The C series and the U series Yamahas fit this description perfectly in that they are the highest quality pianos in their class and the best values in their class. The Yamaha AvantGrand is in a league of its own – providing extraordinary piano quality and value through highly innovative and sophisticated technology. And in the CF Yamaha, (introduced to the world just this year) we have found what just might be the best concert piano in the world today: a piano with complete versatility and beauty of sound combined with an unsurpassed responsive action: a perfect instrument where the fingers seem to be able to transmit the exact sound that is in the mind of the performer.
If we had to choose just one piano to play in concert it would be the Yamaha CFX. If we had to pick just one piano for our own home based only on sound and touch (disregarding parameters such as size, style and price), the CF4 and the CF6 would both be on our very short list of pianos from which to choose. |
New - Yamaha AvantGrand!
Yamaha CF4, CF6, CFX
Yamaha is famous for making remarkably well-constructed, professional-quality pianos that are sought and owned by more people and more institutions than any other piano in the world. It is the world’s most innovative maker of pianos and keyboards. And now it has created an exquisite, entirely hand-made, limited edition, piano, the Yamaha CF that we expect will be the new standard-bearer in the arena of ultra-high-end ”Tier 1” pianos.
We have recently seen, played and heard the new CF4, CF6 and CFX pianos. These are the instruments that we’ve long been waiting for: pianos with a glorious sound, an incredibly responsive touch and an extraordinary level of versatility. CF pianos will meet or exceed the requirements of every type of pianist and every type of performance venue – and they are built and backed by the strongest manufacturer in the industry. CF pianos are not typical Tier 1 “boutique” pianos. They are glorious instruments that not only feel perfect and sound wonderful; they achieve the highest standards in every critical area of structure and performance so as to be the piano of choice for the most demanding pianists, institutions and concert halls.
We are delighted that Yamaha has appointed Faust Harrison Pianos to be one of the few select dealers in the country to represent the CF line. We are eagerly awaiting our first shipment, due to arrive early this summer. We can’t wait to show them to you!

Yamaha is the world’s largest manufacturer of pianos for professional musicians of all genres. It is ubiquitous in the world of jazz and pop. It has been said that the C series Yamaha pianos are the most recorded pianos in the world and are universally featured in world’s finest recording studios. The C series pianos dominate in the live performance community and are commonly seen in jazz, pop, and classical venues around the world. Together, along with Steinway, they account for the vast majority of pianos on stages and in colleges, universities, and conservatories.
The degrees to which these two pianos pervade the world’s public music spaces have made the names Yamaha and Steinway nearly synonymous with the word “piano.” Indeed, it is almost a daily occurrence that a client tells us that his or her friend or teacher or tuner suggested that they buy a Yamaha or a Steinway. Yet the C class Yamaha and the Steinway are distinctly different instruments.
If you like a rich, warm sound and the way that a Steinway-type piano immerses you in its substance, if you love to play the classics, you’re most likely to be drawn to a Faust Harrison-prepared CF Yamaha, Mason & Hamlin or Estonia, or a Faust Harrison rebuilt, vintage Steinway. On the other hand, if you love an exciting sound and the immediacy of a piano that almost “reads your mind”, if you prefer pop and jazz and Broadway musicals, the most appealing piano to you would likely be a C class Yamaha – especially if it’s carefully prepped and fully supported by a company with the reputation and the commitment of Faust Harrison Pianos. If you’re not sure which type of piano is for you, try them all – side by side in the same showroom; work with one of our terrific pianist-salespeople to learn about pianos and to discover what really is the right piano for you. |
Yamaha AvantGrand
Yamaha’s new AvantGrand (introduced just last year) may well prove to be the perfect piano for pianists and piano students who need a piano with a great touch, a beautiful sound, a small footprint, a moderate price and no tuning costs. Yamaha created the AvantGrand, the world’s first truly “hybrid” piano, to satisfy a need that could not be served by even the best digital pianos (that just don’t feel like acoustic pianos) or by traditional, professional-quality acoustic pianos (that tend to have large footprints, higher prices than digitals and a need for regular maintenance).
A true hybrid piano has digital elements for the sound and real, mechanical elements for the touch. In the case of the Yamaha AvantGrand, the digital elements are as good as they get. Spectacular sampling and highly advanced sound reproduction electronics make it sound like a fine acoustic piano. And a state-of-the-art Yamaha action, a true acoustic piano action, feels like the real thing because it is the real thing.
The AvantGrand:
- is light because it doesn’t have the heavy, cast iron plate, the massive rim or the hardwood laminate pinblock that acoustic pianos require
- is small because it doesn’t have an expansive soundboard such as is required in a professional-quality acoustic piano
- needs no tuning because there are no strings
- feels like a high-quality acoustic piano because it has the exact same action as in a high-quality acoustic piano
- has a moderate price because it doesn’t contain many of the expensive elements that are required in a traditional acoustic piano
Please come in and try the new AvantGrand at our West 58th Street showroom in Manhattan or make an appointment to see and play one at our factory showroom in Dobbs Ferry, NY. We’d love to know if you're as impressed with it as we are. |
